It is with great sadness that I let you know that my dear friend and colleague of over35 years, Bankruptcy Judge David T Thuma, passed away earlier this morning after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

Judge Thuma’s pending cases will be transferred to me, Judge Jacobvitz, unless I recused in the case. Please bear with us for the next week or so as we work through pending matters. Hearings and other proceedings in cases assigned to Judge Thuma will be held before me, as scheduled, unless an order or notice is filed in the case continuing the matter.

Judge Thuma’s family is in our hearts at this difficult time.
