Order Granting Motion to Seal Document
These instructions are for preparing an order to seal a document which has not yet been filed.
The proposed order must contain the following language which serves as instructions for submitting the sealed documents to the Clerk's Office.
The documents ordered to be filed under seal must be submitted using one of the following methods:
- as an attachment to an e-mail sent to web_ops@nmb.uscourts.gov, or
-
in paper form to the Clerk of the Bankruptcy Court in a sealed envelope with a copy of the order attached to the outside of the envelope
If submitting documents by e-mail,
(a) a copy of the order must be attached to the e-mail in addition to the document to be filed under seal,
(b) the subject line of the e-mail message must state the case name and number, and SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENT TO BE FILED UNDER SEAL, and
(c) the text of the e-mail message must state something to the effect “Attached is a document to be filed under seal and the order directing the filing of the document under seal.”
Submit the Proposed Order to the appropriate judge. Note: There is no guarantee the document will be filed on the same date that the e-mail was sent. If the order is entered granting the motion, you will receive an NEF.
